Jessie Ware (link) is a British singer/songwriter that has a beautiful voice that hits you with so many emotions just in one song. She can transition from soft ballads to catchy songs that you could easily dance along to on the radio. She’s one artist that isn’t confined to one particular genre, she does it all. She hasn’t blown up in the U.S. just yet but she’s very loved in the U.K. Her song “Say You Love Me” absolutely had me hooked from the first listen.
Her second album, “Tough Love” is out in the UK now and it’ll be released in the U.S. on October 21st. Another highlight to Ware’s latest album is all the collaborations that her album is filled with. It makes sense why the song “Say You Love Me” stands out to me in such a striking fashion. The British singer/songwriter that is infamous for his beautiful and non cliché lyrics about love, Ed Sheeran co-wrote the song with Ware. A lot of Ware’s songs don’t exactly focus on the lyrics so that’s why this particular one is so striking. The background of a type of choir in this song adds to the beauty and uniqueness of Jessie’s artistry. Ware’s second album has other contributors such as: Sam Smith, Miguel, Ed Sheeran, and many others. It says something about Ware that she can team up with these popular artists and songwriters.
In addition to her album coming out soon, Ware doesn’t let fans down due to her releasing her latest music on SoundCloud. She has remixes to her songs that you won’t find anywhere else besides her own SoundCloud. Her latest on the music sharing site was her demo for her “12”. I enjoy this song because it has a soul & R&B vibe to it and her voice really shines in this song. She unfortunately only releases about 1:30 for most of her tracks on SoundCloud. However, her new song “Pieces” is definitely one of my favorites. It’s just catchy and has so many strong emotions within the lyrics.
