More Than Skies
By Gordon Lewis
The Long Island native singer -songwriter Adam James has announced his self-titled double LP under the name More Than Skies, out on March 24th 2015. With the help of Sainthood Reps’ Bradley Cordaro doing production and Dan Coutant doing the mastering of the album Adam is able to convey exactly what he wants to with his new release delivering undying passion, integrity and artistic honesty.
Best classified as being Angsty Folk-Rock, More Than Skies brings an melodious orchestrated musical powerhouse of epic proportions to the listener’s ears. All of the instruments on More Than Skies music is well planned out and arranged with thoughtfulness and care. Adam James takes large strides to make sure his music clean and well produced while keeping the edginess of a do it yourself style.
More Than Skies previous works include the 2011 EP titled “ The Liar, The Puppet, The Fox” and the 2012 LP “I Am Only Above Ground”. I recommend listening to every release that More Than Skies has put out to get a full story through Adam James songwriting.
Each of More than Skies songs deliver heart felt emotion brought through thoughtful lyrics accompanied by musical inflections brought through crescendos, decrescendos, rubato and timbre. The powerfulness of the record can be felt through the full, well-produced instrumentation that delivers the essence of a live performance.
